The world of Facebook is going through a turbulent period. This, above all else, is a timely reminder for businesses to review their own data collection, storage and distribution methods in time for GDPR!

There has been some breaking news recently. No, we’re not referring to the Ant McPartlin drink driving case, we’re speaking about the current data scandal at Facebook!

What’s happening at Facebook?

Facebook is essentially being investigated about how their data is being harvested and used by a political firm known as Cambridge Analytica. The allegations have been raised due to the reported misuse of data from 50 million Facebook users.

Cambridge Analytica are known for their work on the campaign for President Donald Trump, but since have been suspended from the social network; provoking questions from everyone.

There are many concerns surrounding this reported case of misused Facebook data by Cambridge Analytica. Many Facebook users have been left pondering how their details have been gathered and how it’s been used. There’s a great deal of information being revealed about this news story, and you can expect to hear more in the coming weeks.

Mark Zuckerberg has admitted that Facebook has ‘made mistakes’ in reference to Facebook’s users having their data exploited.
