Creating an e-commerce website for Melloo
Melloo is an online teaching resources company made up of previous and current teachers. The team is dedicated to providing teachers across the world with effective learning materials. The purpose of Melloo is that it can support teachers in making their lesson plans more engaging through their purchasable and printable products.
From the start, we knew the site required a large user import, high-end security and a customisable back end in Magento; which could cope with large amounts of products and user data.
Designing the new Melloo website began with extensive planning. Having a strategy was pivotal before we even attempted to do anything for such a big project. Because the site was previously large and focussed on funneling a user, we had to focus our attentions on the entire user journey from the old website and improve it on their new site, whilst embracing their new branding we had created for them.
With the designs complete, it was over to our developers to put the site together. There were many aspects that the developers needed to integrate into the website’s front and back-end. On the front, they were required to present the website in the best light, with a range of colours, layouts and fonts. In the back-end using Magento, they built an e-commerce platform written in PHP.
When we create a new brand and website, we never just build our clients’ site and then leave them to it – we always make sure that every aspect of the launch is covered. We begin our marketing campaign by creating social media graphics for their desired pages across their social media platforms; these can be Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram etc.
The website’s front-end is bright, colourful and smooth, which perfectly complements the fresh Melloo brand. Along with the vibrant front-end, the back-end is easily editable for both us and Melloo. When any new products or custom promotions or codes need to be added to the site, it can be done so through the user dashboard.
