For which engineering branches can a candidate apply in the IES exam?
Every year, candidates wishing to be considered for specialised jobs in the ministries of the Union Government appear for the UPSC’s IES test to check whether they qualify. Since the IES is a component of the Central Civil Service, applicants may be allocated to positions across the country. In order to identify candidates for government posts in India, an engineering test is administered. The Engineering Services Exam is available in four distinct engineering fields: civil, mechanical, and electrical.
The Engineering Services Exam (IES) is used by the Indian government to employ Group A and Group B officers for technical jobs in the engineering and construction industries. Examinees must pass the IES Preliminary, IES Main, and Personality Test before moving on to the next step. The findings of an IES exam are used to provide recommendations for positions in the Union Government. The kind of engineering officer for which a candidate is chosen via the IES test has a direct impact on the nature of the job that they do.
